The 20th edition of the Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival, organized by the Ghana Academy Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, will begin on April 18.
This annual international event, which attracts thousands of tourists, will take place from April 18 to April 21, running daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The festival will be held at the scenic Odweanoma Mountains in Atibie-Kwahu.
According to a statement from the Ghana News Agency, the 20th edition is set to offer an exciting adventure for thrill-seekers.
Ticket prices are set at GHC 1,350 per flight, with early bird tickets available for GHC 1,250 until March 31.
Experienced tandem pilots from across the globe will be flying passengers during the event. Pilots include Blake Daniel Pelton, Edward Allan Stein, and Chuck Smith (USA); Lamina Ilea (Romania); Eduardo Reategui Vera (Peru); Hugen Muhlich (Germany); and Jonathan Quaye (Ghana).
In addition to paragliding, the festival will feature a variety of activities, including a health walk, fun games, children’s games, electronic games, dance competitions, proverb challenges, and traditional outdoor games like oware, ludu, cards, and draughts.
Visitors can also look forward to music, food, souvenirs, and tour packages throughout the festival.
The event is organized in partnership with the Ghana Tourist Development Company, the Kwahu East District Assembly, the Kwahu West and South Municipal Assemblies, the Kwahu Development Association, the Kwahu Tourism Initiative, and the Kwahu Traditional Council, all aimed at boosting domestic tourism.
