With world-class trails and an official opening date, RED’s new lift-accessed bike park is poised to transform summer activities in the Kootenays.

The countdown has begun. Red Mountain Resort will officially open its highly anticipated lift-accessed bike park this summer. Honoring the Past with “Standing on the Shoulders”

To commemorate the occasion, Red Mountain Resort has released Episode One: Of Legends—the first part of a two-episode video mini-series that highlights the history of mountain biking in the Kootenays. This beautifully shot film goes beyond just promoting the new park—it serves as a tribute to Rossland’s dedicated trail builders, passionate riders, and deep-rooted biking legacy. It serves as a reminder that the new bike park is built on decades of passion, effort, and experience. The video was produced by Mike Hopkins, a local icon and former Rampage rider.

Red’s team reflects, “It’s hard to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been.” Episode Two, set to be released in April, will provide an in-depth look at the design and construction process of the new trail system, with behind-the-scenes footage from Gravity Logic.

Gravity Logic Leads the Construction

Riders can expect a diverse range of trails, thanks to Gravity Logic—the same team responsible for Whistler’s world-famous bike park. The new park will feature a combination of flow trails, jump lines, and technical descents suitable for riders of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to push your limits, RED’s bike park is crafted to meet every rider’s needs.

A Vision Beyond the Bike Park

The new bike park is a key part of RED’s broader vision to establish Rossland as a year-round outdoor destination. As General Manager Andrew Lunt explains, “This park is more than just a collection of trails—it’s about building community, boosting tourism, and strengthening Rossland’s reputation as a premier outdoor destination.”

With its opening, the RED Mountain Bike Park promises to take Rossland’s biking scene to new heights while connecting riders with the region’s rich mountain heritage.
