A 20-year-old man from Kansas died on Tuesday after crashing into a tree while skiing at Winter Park Resort in Colorado.
Despite efforts by ski patrol, medical teams, and emergency responders, the skier could not be revived.
The incident was reported to ski patrol at 10:52 a.m. on Tuesday. Authorities said the skier had struck a tree on Lupin, an intermediate/advanced trail. Other skiers performed CPR until the Winter Park Ski Patrol arrived and took over the resuscitation efforts. The skier was then rushed to the Denver Health Winter Park Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators confirmed the skier was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
