CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard University skiing team will compete in the University of New Hampshire Carnival, a key event for the NCAA Regional Championships, on February 21-22. Alpine events will take place at Mittersill in Franconia, New Hampshire, while nordic races will be held at Jackson XC in Jackson, New Hampshire.
Event Schedule and Highlights
The carnival kicks off on Friday, February 21, with alpine skiers participating in the giant slalom, while nordic competitors will race the 7.5k classic interval start. The event will conclude on Saturday, February 22, with alpine athletes competing in the slalom and nordic skiers taking on the 15k freestyle mass start.
Key Competitors and Rankings
In the latest Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) NCAA rankings, several Harvard skiers have earned top spots. First-year Skylar Sheppard is ranked 18th overall in women’s alpine, including 10th in slalom. Fellow first-year Duncan Armstrong holds the 17th spot in men’s alpine, including 13th in the giant slalom. Senior Quincy Donley is ranked 22nd in women’s nordic, with a 20th place in the classic. Senior Luke Kearing is 24th in men’s alpine, including 19th in slalom.
