A 19-year-old tourist from Ahmedabad tragically lost her life in a paragliding accident in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Khushi Bhavasar from Memnagar in Ahmedabad, was killed when the paraglider failed to take off and crashed into a 60-foot-deep valley.
The incident occurred around 5:00 pm at the Indranag site. According to the police, the paraglider failed to lift properly during takeoff, leading to the fatal crash. Bhavasar’s instructor, Manish Kumar, was also injured in the accident and is receiving treatment at a local hospital. Khushi Bhavasar was declared dead upon arrival at Zonal Hospital Dharamshala.
Dharamshala Police Station’s SHO, Narayan, confirmed that the incident happened when the paraglider’s canopy failed to open properly during the takeoff. Authorities are now investigating the exact cause of the crash.
The police are also gathering additional details about the pilot to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
