WHISTLER, BC—The Crankworx World Tour is preparing for an exciting mountain biking season in 2025, unveiling updates to its event calendar. The upcoming year promises thrilling competitions, new challenges, and opportunities for riders to showcase their skills on a global platform.
Updates to The Event Structure
In the previous season, fans witnessed fierce competitions as athletes vied for points toward the prestigious King & Queen of Crankworx titles. Martha Gill from Great Britain and Ryan Gilchrist from Australia emerged as champions at Crankworx Whistler, each taking home the coveted title. These prestigious titles will continue to be a part of the circuit, with opportunities to earn points at various festivals throughout the Crankworx World Tour, including:
Crankworx Summer Series Christchurch: February 13-16
Crankworx Rotorua: March 5-9
Crankworx Cairns: May 21-25
Crankworx Summer Series SilverStar: August 1-4 (to be confirmed)
Crankworx Whistler: August 8-17
While the King & Queen standings will remain, Crankworx will eliminate the Speed & Style discipline. This decision follows careful consideration and feedback from event partners, athletes, and spectators. To ensure that multi-discipline athletes still have ample opportunities to compete for points, each Crankworx World Tour festival (Rotorua, Cairns, Whistler) will feature at least four events eligible for valuable points. Additionally, a new “Mystery Event” tailored to multi-discipline athletes will debut in Cairns, replacing Speed & Style.
