The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has announced the fourth edition of its popular Skydiving Festival, set to take place in the historic city of Ujjain. The event offers adventure enthusiasts the chance to experience the thrill of skydiving from 10,000 feet above the city, taking in spectacular aerial views of the sacred Mahakal temple and the surrounding landscape. Running from November 9, 2024, to February 9, 2025, the festival is part of a broader initiative to position Madhya Pradesh as a top destination for adventure tourism in India.
In collaboration with Sky-high India, a DGCA- and USPA-certified skydiving organization, the Tourism Board is set to offer an unforgettable experience for visitors seeking both excitement and spirituality. Sky-high India will operate the event using a modified Cessna 182P aircraft, which can carry up to six passengers at a time. However, for safety reasons, each jump will accommodate two participants, each paired with a professional instructor.
This year’s festival, held against Ujjain’s revered spiritual backdrop, continues the success of previous editions, which have drawn hundreds of adventure seekers from across India and internationally. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, expressed optimism about the event’s growing appeal. “Madhya Pradesh is an emerging multispecialty destination, and the Skydiving Festival over Ujjain’s sacred city will once again captivate both thrill-seekers and those with a spiritual connection to the region,” he said. “We expect this year’s edition to draw an even larger crowd and introduce many to the unique thrill of skydiving in such a spiritually significant setting.”
The festival is expected to further elevate the city’s status as a prominent tourism hub, blending adventure with Ujjain’s deep spiritual heritage.
