First Descents, a leader in adventure-based healing, has announced an expanded partnership with Heli, an online marketplace connecting the outdoor community to premier adventure experiences worldwide. This collaboration designates First Descents as Heli’s official nonprofit partner, making it the exclusive beneficiary of Heli’s corporate giving initiatives and auction experiences tailored for the FD community. As part of this partnership, Heli will also manage Stoke Broker, a cause corporation founded by First Descents that offers custom outdoor adventures for private groups, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

“Heli has been a friend and supporter of First Descents for years. We’re STOKED to establish a formal partnership that will benefit both organizations,” said Ryan O’Donoghue, CEO of First Descents. “We are incredibly grateful for Heli’s continued financial support and are confident that under Heli’s guidance, Stoke Broker will grow and expand its reach.”

Stoke Broker was designed to provide customized adventure experiences for private clients, corporate groups, and impact travel. Heli, established in 2015, boasts an extensive network of providers that facilitate transformative adventures including surfing, biking, kite surfing, and heli-skiing.

The partnership guarantees Heli’s commitment of at least five figures annually in philanthropic support, enhancing First Descents’ offerings. This includes sponsorship of First Descents’ annual Silverton Shred and FD Ball events, along with complimentary auction experiences to boost fundraising efforts. Additionally, Heli plans to design trips for FD alumni and curate experiences for FD donors and corporate partners.

“First Descents and Heli were born from the same DNA—both organizations believe that outdoor adventure is a pathway to self-discovery and healing,” said Brock Strasbourger, president and cofounder of Heli.
