Revolutionizing Campfires: PyreLogs™ Launches First Reusable Fire Bases

PyreLogs has introduced the outdoor industry’s first reusable campfire bases, offering an innovative solution for building better fires faster. These patent-pending bases feature a ventilated steel design that ensures 360 degrees of airflow, making campfire construction straightforward and reliable—even on damp ground.

Founded by Alyson Kate Long and Frank D. Kecseti, PyreLogs aims to enhance outdoor experiences, believing that campfires provide the perfect opportunity to connect with nature. “We invented PyreLogs because we want people to enjoy more time outdoors,” said Frank. “As the Official Sponsor of Campfire Season, our goal is to encourage everyone to unplug and reconnect with nature.”

The PyreLogs set includes three simple components: ventilated side shields, end caps, and stainless steel hitch pins. Assembled using a slot-and-tab system, the triangular prism structure secures easily with hitch pins. Once assembled, users can place the bases in any fire ring or backyard fire pit, allowing for efficient fire-building. After use, the bases can be cooled rapidly without warping, ensuring they are ready for the next adventure.

Last year, outdoor participation in the U.S. surged to a record 175.8 million people, with 7.7 million Americans trying outdoor activities for the first time, according to the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) 2024 report. Alyson noted that many campers face challenges lighting fires due to poor airflow in typical fire rings. “PyreLogs raises firewood off the ground, allowing for better airflow and quicker coal production,” she explained.

Available for purchase on Amazon, each PyreLogs set comes flat-packed and includes two reusable campfire bases. They can be manually assembled in under three minutes, and hitch pins ensure stability. “Grab a stick, some marshmallows, and join us around the fire,” Alyson invites customers.

The founders express gratitude to their team for bringing PyreLogs to market, crediting contributors such as Logan Hall for brand design and Kris Proctor for photography. “As entrepreneurs, our goal is to have big ideas and collaborate with talented friends,” Frank added.

PyreLogs has also been recognized as a Top Four Finalist in the Outdoors Category of Garden & Gun’s Made in the South Awards (MISTA). The company will showcase its product at the inaugural Garden & Gun G&G Winter Market in Charleston, SC, from November 21-24, 2024. The category winner will be announced in the upcoming December 2024/January 2025 issue of the magazine.
