Purgatory Resort Opens November 16
Purgatory Resort, celebrated for its family-friendly atmosphere and affordability, will commence its season on November 16, 2024. The resort will operate daily through April 13, 2025, with weekend services extending until April 27. Ski enthusiasts are encouraged to purchase tickets early to benefit from the resort’s dynamic pricing model, which adjusts ticket costs based on demand. Nestled between Durango and Silverton in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, Purgatory is renowned for offering exceptional value. The resort features 107 trails, four terrain parks, 11 lifts, and 1,607 skiable acres. Notably, its Power Kids season pass provides free, unlimited skiing and lift-served mountain biking for children aged 12 and under, with no blackout dates.
Brian Head Resort Celebrates 60 Years Starting November 8
Brian Head Resort in Southern Utah will kick off its 60th ski season on November 8, 2024. Early-bird lift tickets will be available starting at $19 on select dates, with a dynamic pricing model similar to Purgatory’s. As demand increases, ticket prices will rise, making early purchase advantageous.
This season, Brian Head will debut three new ski trails and replace over 2,400 feet of snowmaking infrastructure to enhance snow conditions. The resort will also mark its 60th anniversary with a week of celebratory events beginning January 7, 2025.
Brian Head boasts 650 acres of skiable terrain, 71 trails, and eight lifts. With Utah’s highest base elevation at 9,600 feet and an average annual snowfall of nearly 360 inches, the resort is a premier destination for powder enthusiasts. Located approximately three hours from Las Vegas and four hours from Salt Lake City, Brian Head offers a comprehensive range of amenities, including a ski and snowboard school, terrain parks, night skiing, and tubing.
