Ellie Winchell, a young mountain biker from the Qathet region, is heading to the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships 2024 in Andorra after being selected by Cycling Canada. She began mountain biking in 2021 and quickly achieved success, including winning a provincial title.
Winchell will compete in the U19 cross-country Olympic category. Her preparation includes extensive year-round training and racing across North America, which has earned her valuable UCI points and experience. At the world championships, she hopes to finish in the top 40 and learn from the international competition. After the championships, she will return to start grade 12 and continue her racing career.
