A 65-year-old man sustained severe injuries after a paragliding accident in Buchenberg, Halblech (Ostallgau District). According to preliminary investigations by the police, the incident occurred due to a braking failure during the man’s landing attempt. As a result, his paraglider partially collapsed, causing a rapid descent from a height of at least five meters. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, and the injured pilot was airlifted to a trauma clinic on Monday.

The victim, a resident of the Swabian region of Bavaria, frequently indulged in leisure activities such as paragliding amidst the picturesque landscapes of Swabia. Eyewitnesses, local residents, immediately alerted emergency responders upon witnessing the accident.
