Utah Celebrates Second-Best Ski Season with Over 6.7 Million Skier Visits

Utah’s winter of 2023-24 marked a milestone for the state’s ski industry, as it recorded the second-best ski season in its history. According to the Utah Ski and Snowboard Association, a total of 6,746,008 skier visits were tallied across the state’s 15 resorts during the winter season.

A skier visit is defined as one person skiing or snowboarding for one day, reflecting the robust activity and interest in Utah’s diverse terrain and world-class ski access.

Nathan Rafferty, CEO of Ski Utah, attributed the success to Utah’s exceptional snow conditions and the appeal of its varied terrain. He expressed pride in the season’s achievements, noting, “The future is bright for Utah.”

Looking ahead to the 2024-25 ski season, Utah is gearing up with substantial capital investments, including plans for the installation of at least 14 new chairlifts over the next two years. Deer Valley Resort is slated to benefit significantly from these developments, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experiences and maintain Utah’s status as a premier ski destination.
