DOLAKHA: The third edition of the annual Rock Climbing Festival will take place in Sokla Valley, located in Bhimeshwor Municipality-2, from May 3 to 4.
The two-day event aims to promote Sokla Valley as a prime destination for adventure rock climbing, according to Arjun Pakhrin, Chair of the Sokla Tourism Development Society.
The festival is receiving financial backing from the Nepal Tourism Board and is being organized in collaboration with several local authorities.
Rock climbing activities will take place on the cliffs of Sokla and Chakpa. Sokla, a village situated just eight kilometers from the district headquarters, Charikot, is renowned for its agro-tourism, ecotourism, adventure tourism, bird-watching opportunities, and stunning views of the Gaurishankar mountain range. It is also known for its significance in religious study and research.
The Mountain Guide Association of Nepal is providing technical expertise for the event.
