WHISTLER, B.C. — As the World Ski and Snowboard Festival draws to a close, Whistler Blackcomb is preparing for its seasonal shift. The ski resort announced that winter operations on Whistler Mountain will end on Sunday, April 21, marking the last day of access to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for the winter season.
Starting Monday, April 22, all skiing and snowboarding activities will move exclusively to Blackcomb Mountain as the resort transitions to its spring operations.
In an April 10 operations update, Whistler Blackcomb advised guests to prepare for variable snow conditions at all elevations.
“Due to changing temperatures, expect freeze-thaw conditions that vary from the alpine to the valley,” the update stated.
“Please stay aware of your surroundings and adjust to the evolving conditions.”
The final day of the ski season at Whistler Blackcomb is set for Sunday, May 19.
As the snow season winds down, summer attractions are gearing up.
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to open on Thursday, May 16. The following day, Friday, May 17, sightseeing activities on Whistler Mountain will begin, including the reopening of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for summer visitors.
