Omani Paragliding Team Shines at GCC Beach Games in Muscat

Muscat – The Omani national paragliding team achieved great success at the Third GCC Beach Games in Muscat, 2025. The team secured the gold medal in the team category, while also earning silver and bronze in the individual events. The competition took place at Hail Beach in Seeb and featured 14 competitors from Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait.

Team Results Oman finished first in the team standings with 8,475 points. The UAE earned the silver medal with 7,275 points, while Kuwait took home the bronze with 3,925 points. In the individual events, Abdullah Nasser Mustafa Kashif from the UAE claimed the gold with 1,000 points. Oman’s Ahmed bin Hamdan al Kalbani secured the silver with 950 points, and his teammate Yaqzan bin Jamal al Zadjali won the bronze with 500 points.

Sportsmanship and Camaraderie Retired Major General Mohamed Said Khalfan praised the friendly and supportive atmosphere of the event. Nasser Hamouda al Neyadi from the UAE also expressed his hope for more regional paragliding competitions to strengthen the sport in the region.
