Ogau Rookie Fest 2025: A Historic First for Germany on the World Rookie Tour

The inaugural World Rookie Tour event in Germany, the Ogau Rookie Fest, took place from February 14 to 16, 2025. Held at Snowpark Oberammergau, the festival brought together young snowboarders from across Europe for a weekend packed with progression, competition, and fun. The venue, with its smooth lift access and top-notch freestyle setup, provided the perfect environment for the next generation of riders.

Day 1: Training, Climate Awareness, and Nitro Night Session

The event kicked off on Friday with an intense training session, giving riders a chance to familiarize themselves with the park. In addition, a Protect Our Winters (POW) workshop was held, where participants learned about the impact of climate change and the importance of sustainability in snowboarding.

As night fell, the Nitro BBQ night session took place, adding an electric atmosphere to the event. Riders impressed the crowd with stylish tricks under floodlights, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.

Day 2: Game of S.N.O.W. and Final Preparations

Saturday was dedicated to pushing limits and creativity. Riders participated in a game of S.N.O.W., a trick battle that encouraged friendly competition. The high-energy contest inspired many participants to land new tricks, setting the stage for the main competition on Sunday.

Day 3: Contest Day – Showcasing the Future of Snowboarding

Sunday marked the official slopestyle competition, where riders displayed their skills under ideal weather conditions. The event went smoothly, showcasing the talent and determination of young snowboarders, each eager to make their mark on the sport.

Results and Standout Performances

Super Grom (Under 12)

Girls: Valerie Schwab (Bredlsport Oberland e.V.) claimed first place in a close contest, edging out Tilda Kuhlmann (Snowgau Freestyle Team e.V.), who showed strong potential for the future.

Boys: Alex Campbell took the top spot, impressing with his technical ability and consistency.

Grom (Under 15)

Girls: Marie Kuhlmann (Snowgau Freestyle Team e.V.) not only took first place in her category but also earned the highest overall female score.

Boys: Slovenia’s Jaka Pancur stood out with an exceptional performance, securing the top position.

Rookie (Under 18)

Girls: In a smaller field, Lena Kutschker (Snowgau Freestyle Team e.V.) secured the win with style.

Boys: Tyler Prosser-Marr from Scotland claimed the rookie title with an impressive run that wowed both judges and spectators.
