Surfing Australia has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 National Titles, featuring a range of surfing disciplines at renowned locations across the country.
The event series will commence with the Australian Para Surfing Titles in Byron Bay, New South Wales, from March 23-25, 2025. This will be followed by the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles, set to take place at Bells Beach, Victoria, from May 30 to June 1. The Australian Longboard Titles will occur on the Tweed Coast, New South Wales, from July 22-27.
In a notable first, the Australian Bodyboard Titles will be hosted at URBNSURF Sydney on August 21-22, marking a significant shift to a wave park venue. The Australian Shortboard Titles are scheduled for Wollongong, New South Wales, from August 26-31, while the Australian SUP Titles will return to Phillip Island, Victoria, from October 21-25. The year will wrap up with the Australian Junior Surfing Titles, with details on the location to be revealed soon.
Luke Madden, Surfing Australia’s Chief of Sport – Events, Participation, and Community, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming events: “We’re excited to see each discipline hosting their National Titles at unique locations that cater to their specific styles of surfing. This showcases some of Australia’s best surf spots.”
Madden highlighted the return of the Australian SUP Titles to Phillip Island as part of a two-year partnership with Bass Coast Shire and emphasized the significance of URBNSURF Sydney hosting the Bodyboard Titles for the first time. He also noted that Wollongong continues to be a key location for Shortboard competitions due to its strong partnership with Destination Wollongong.
The Australian Para Surfing Titles will feature participation from adaptive surfers led by Mark ‘Mono’ Stewart. This event will coincide with an Association of Adaptive Surfing Professionals (AASP) World Tour event in Byron Bay.
Winners in select divisions of the Australian Para Surfing, SUP, Longboard, Shortboard, and Junior Titles will earn spots on the Irukandjis Team, representing Australia at their respective ISA World Championships.
