The wait is over for fans of women-centric snow films, as the Girl Winter Film Tour is set to hit theaters this fall. Following the success of last year’s acclaimed all-women ski film, Advice for Girls, the creative team is thrilled to launch a new collection of short films that celebrate women in skiing and snowboarding.
Kicking off with its world premiere in Jackson, Wyoming, on October 26, 2024, the tour, presented by Stio, will travel across the nation, with an initial lineup of screening locations to be revealed soon.
The tour’s name playfully nods to the popular concept of “Girl Dinner,” which emphasizes a mix of enjoyable small bites. Similarly, the Girl Winter Film Tour aims to offer an eclectic selection of short films that deliver exhilarating skiing, engaging storytelling, and humor—much like a satisfying plate of varied delights.
The event will showcase over six films from the Advice for Girls collective, along with contributions from the wider creative community. Each screening will conclude with a Q&A session featuring the athletes and filmmakers behind the showcased works. The organizers hope to foster a supportive environment for celebrating women’s achievements in snow sports, inviting audiences of all backgrounds to participate.
The film lineup includes notable athletes such as Olympians Devin Logan and Caroline Claire, as well as pro skiers Amie Engerbretson, Jac Pollard, Sierra Schlag, and Erin Spong. More films will be announced soon, further enhancing the impressive roster of female talent.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with the Girl Winter Film Tour to shine a spotlight on these exceptional women,” said Liz Barrett, brand director at Stio. “This event is a celebration for all of us who love outdoor adventures together, highlighting the high-fives and thrilling experiences shared among friends while inspiring the next generation of female athletes.”
Mark your calendars and get ready to be inspired by the stories and talents of women in the snow sports community this fall!
