The skies above Gansu Province in northwest China were filled with color and excitement as a major paragliding competition kicked off on Saturday. The event has drawn nearly 50 skilled paragliders from across the nation to showcase their aerial prowess.
Following a formal opening ceremony, participants readied their equipment and communication devices before launching from a picturesque mountain in Su’nan County, signaling the commencement of the competition.
Ji Xiang, a competitor, shared his enthusiasm: “Today, I soared to over 5,000 meters and was greeted with breathtaking views. I look forward to more opportunities to paraglide here.”
The three-day event features two key challenges: spot landing and speed flying, promising an exhilarating experience for both participants and spectators alike.
