Blue Mountain Resort, Pennsylvania’s Premier Downhill Destination, Unveils Exciting Autumn Lineup
Blue Mountain Resort, renowned for being Pennsylvania’s largest downhill bike park, is gearing up for its much-anticipated fall racing season. The excitement kicks off with the MAXXIS Eastern States Cup Race, scheduled for September 14 and 15.
Each year, Blue Mountain collaborates with cycling organizations to host a diverse range of downhill mountain bike races, catering to local, regional, and national competitors. The resort, nestled in Little Gap Valley, is renowned for its extensive trails, which accommodate riders of all skill levels—from novices to seasoned professionals. With the highest vertical drop in Pennsylvania, the year-round resort provides an adrenaline-fueled experience featuring challenging berms, chutes, and booters.
The bike park boasts 29 trails, including the notoriously tough “The Swartz” for expert riders and the beginner-friendly “Shakedown Street.” The efficient Comet Quad Lift services all trails, allowing riders to maximize their time on the slopes while minimizing wait times.
Fall 2024 Downhill Racing Schedule at Blue Mountain Resort:
- September 14-15 – MAXXIS Eastern States Cup Race: This event is set to showcase a variety of categories including kids, juniors, amateurs, masters, experts/pros, boys, girls, men, and women. The race aims to foster the growth of gravity mountain biking on the East Coast.
- September 22 – Mid-Atlantic Super Series (M.A.S.S.): Established in 2001, M.A.S.S. has earned a reputation for organizing top-tier races across the country, integrating individual and team competitions into a season-long series.
- October 4-8 – Interscholastic Pennsylvania Cycling League: This youth-focused organization uses mountain biking to promote healthy lifestyles, community building, and trail stewardship, all under the banner of “Let’s Get More Kids on Bikes.”
- October 12-13 – Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC): Representing one of USA Cycling Collegiate’s 11 regional conferences, ECCC brings together 1,000 student athletes from over 50 schools to compete in mountain biking and other sports, spanning from Delaware to Maine.
