The Ski Classics Challengers event, Vaajmarathon, is set to captivate the skiing community this Saturday, August 10, with its 42-kilometer long-distance roller ski race in classic technique.

Vaajmarathon is distinguished by its unique course that spans the Swedish-Norwegian border. As a key fixture in the Ski Classics Challengers circuit, this event also serves as a crucial seeding race for the prestigious Vasaloppet.

In 2024, the race celebrates its sixth edition and will unfold in the scenic Hotagen region, located just 100 kilometers from Östersund. Starting in Mebygda, Norway, participants will traverse the border and finish in Rötviken, Sweden, offering a remarkable cross-border skiing experience.

The Local Organizing Committee proudly describes Vaajmarathon as Sweden’s most visually stunning roller ski race. It not only promotes an active lifestyle but also highlights the thrilling possibilities of roller skiing amid a backdrop of majestic mountains and picturesque landscapes.

As part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit, Vaajmarathon allows Pro Team registered athletes to accumulate points towards the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions, adding an extra layer of competition to this already exhilarating event.
