In the picturesque town of Fethiye, located in Muğla’s southwestern region of Türkiye, adrenaline junkies from around the world are flocking to participate in a high-octane bungee jumping experience.
Hosted at the Water Sports Center in the Foça District, this activity is drawing both local and foreign tourists who crave an exhilarating adventure. Groups of visitors gather to receive thorough instructions before their jump, ensuring they are well-prepared for the thrilling experience.
Participants are securely fitted with safety harnesses around their ankles, then lifted 51 meters (167 feet) high by a crane. With action cameras strapped to their hands, they capture every heart-pounding moment of their descent.
Bülent Demirtan, a representative of the company organizing the jumps, highlighted the uniqueness of this bungee jumping experience in Türkiye. “Fethiye is currently the only place in Türkiye offering this type of bungee jumping,” Demirtan shared with reporters.
“People have an incredibly enjoyable time. Some of our guests have done it for the seventh time and have made it a regular part of their visits. This activity began with the slogan ‘I did it.’ Bungee jumping is unique because it’s an adrenaline activity that anyone can try for the first time without needing prior training or experience. All other extreme sports require a partner,” Demirtan explained.
Demirtan assured that participants only jump when they feel completely ready, emphasizing that no one is ever pushed off the platform.
Aysun Yaban, 43, from southeastern Diyarbakır, has embraced this thrilling activity alongside her family, sharing that she has jumped seven times. “I love extreme sports. The best part is when your heart starts racing as you go up. It’s so much fun. I recommend it to everyone. Most people do it once, but we do it almost every year,” Yaban said enthusiastically.
Her twelve-year-old son, Yiğit Efe Yaban, who was participating for the second time, added, “I jumped upside down. It’s very challenging but equally enjoyable. I want to do it again.”
With its combination of breathtaking views and adrenaline-pumping excitement, Fethiye’s bungee jumping experience is quickly becoming a must-do for thrill-seekers visiting Türkiye.
